My study/ research experience in Taiwan.

The crucial time of our study in Taiwan is here. All second year students can do now is to talk about their thesis. That’s the in thing here at Yang Ming University. We are eating and sleeping with ‘Thesis’ on our minds. It has been a long and tedious experience collecting data and getting all information pertaining to our respective studies. The topic of my thesis is ‘Analysis of Perinatal Mortality’- A Belizean Perspective.

I went back to my native country to collect my data during the summer vacation. I had to travel the whole country for me to achieve this. It was very tiresome but I must say it was enjoyable because I visited some parts of the country where I had never been before. Thanks to my studies here in Taiwan. On arriving back to Taiwan, I presented my data to my advisor who has so far been very helpful. Hopefully, at the end of February I will be presenting my first draft.

Presently I am analyzing my data and having a very hard time with it. I must say though that I have some very closeTaiwanese friends in the office who are assisting me and give me words of encouragement when am about to give up. I am not a statistician and never want to be except for when my son is playing basketball game and they need a statistician. Two different things. That’s the only time in the future I would excel in statistics. But for now the work must continue. My heartfelt thank you goes out to all my Taiwanese friends who are enduring this thesis step by step with me. This has been quite an experience for me. Kudos to all!!
