The International Cooperation and Development Fund (Taiwan ICDF) in collaboration with Ming Chuan Univeristy is organizing a competition entitled “2011 International Development Cooperation Student Paper Competition”. The eligible participants are invited to constitute a team of three people comprising: one local (Taiwanese) student, and (II) One Taiwan ICDF scholarship student, studying at master’s or Ph.D. level at a TICA university. A faculty advisor should mentor the team. Students graduating in 2011 and in spring 2012 are not eligible to compete. I. The goals of this competition are : • To promote the value of International Cooperation and development among Taiwanese people, encourage prospective professionals and foster the quality and quantity of research relating to International development cooperation. • To promote interaction and cooperation between Taiwanese students and foreign students and develop international campuses and learning environments; • To encourage Taiwan ICDF scholarship students to evaluate the development of their home countries and the validity of Taiwan ICDF’s assistance projects, as well as to discover potential projects. II. Application Deadlines: • Phase I : Deadline for Proposal : July 4, 2011. A notice of successful proposals eligible to proceed to Phase II will be published on July 15. • Phase II: Deadline for paper : October 15, 2011. Applications must have passed Phase I evaluation to proceed to Phase II. Nine to ten teams will be announced in mid-November; these teams will give a presentation at a Jury Meeting to be held at the end of November. III. Format: The proposal and he final paper has to be written in APA style, Chicago Style or a similar academic journal style. Proposals should be presented in Times New Roman 12-point font, single-spaced, and no more than 12 pages in length. Papers should be in Times New Roman 12-point font, single-spaced, and no more than 30 pages in length. IV. Submission: The proposal should comprise a signed Application Form, the proposal itself ( One printed copy; one PDF on CD, with a filename in the following format : “ 2011 Taiwan ICDF Paper _Author’s Name”), and identification ( as described on the Application Form).
